Pink Shirt Day encourages schools to create a culture and environment that embraces diversity and is safe, supportive and respectful for all, regardless of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability or cultural background.
On Friday 20 May 2016, West Park students are going to celebrate Pink Shirt Day and stand together to take action against bullying. Class lessons will take place during the week prior to the event to reinforce how we treat others / anti-bullying. It would be great if your child could wear something pink on the day and a gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated in return for either a wristband or a stick for showing their support. All money raised will go to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. For more information visit www.bullyingfree.nz
