Help us meet your needs
At West Park School we have a document called the ‘School Charter’ that has been written with the help of parents, caregivers, the teaching staff and Board of Trustees. In this document we record the things that are important to our school community. West Park School is a medium-sized, decile nine contributing school. Its children come from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. These differences are recognised and celebrated.
Every few years we need to review the School Charter to make sure it still meets the needs of our school community.
The School Charter is a lot like the Strategic Plan you may have in your own workplace, club or association and includes a Mission Statement, Goals and Values. These statements are intended to underpin everything we do at school.
The School Charter should guide us in providing a learning environment that meets the needs of our school community. This only works if we find out what our school community thinks is important.
This is your opportunity to think about our School Charter and provide us with feedback enabling us to update it based on your input.
A Mission Statement should provide a clear target or destination for the school – the Goals are the path the school needs to travel along to reach the destination and the Values are the things we take on the journey to sustain us.
Our current Mission Statement is below:
